This week, we sat down with Freckles, who told us all about his service submission, what it’s like to serve a Femdom collective, and how rope and suspension are the only things that put him in subspace.

Introduction to Service Submission

We began by asking Freckles about his Radioactive Spider Bite into Kink, in which he tells us about how he’s always naturally identified as a submissive. He got into the lifestyle when he turned eighteen by looking into local events. He also joined a kinky Kik group, and after being in it long enough, he was invited to a munch. From there, he attended the same kink event for a year and never looked back. We also talk about the importance of consistent attendance to events when you’re looking to make friends in the community.

Next, we talk about how kink is not necessarily equivalent to sex. Freckles talks about how he serves a Femdom collective with no sexual relations—essentially, he does service tasks for them, including cleaning, setting up for parties, and in general, does whatever they need him to do. This gives him satisfaction, even if there’s no sexual component involved. He also mentions that he’s had less sex since he’s become kinky compared to when he was vanilla, in part because now he’s more choosey, but also because he believes it’s easier to hook up with people when you’re vanilla, as opposed to all of the negotiation that comes with finding play partners.

Submission Versus Bottoming

We talk about how oftentimes, male submissives come to pro-dommes from a demanding point of view, which isn’t truly submissive. Gwen brings up how she gets tons of Fetlife messages from bottoms wanting her to be their dominant, but they have a list of requests that they want to be fulfilled. Freckles considers this “topping from the bottom,” and we debate whether or not this is the behavior of someone who is truly submissive. Of course, there’s nothing wrong with going to your top/dominant with a fantasy, but that could be considered the behavior of a bottom rather than a submissive.

We also bring up how the people that invade Gwen’s Fetlife messages with requests are really hoping for a fetish dispenser, rather than a dominant/submissive relationship. Additionally, these people might not understand what submission truly means, and that every dominant looks at submission differently.

Service Submission for a Collective

Next, Freckles talks about his work for a Femdom collective, and what he finds appealing about it. Dick brings up how he finds this kind of service increasingly appealing, more so than a one-on-one D/s dynamic. Freckles mentions that he loves serving a collective, but at times he does wish he had a personal connection with a Femdom. At the same time, however, he appreaciates having the ability to build his skills as a submissive with a larger group of people.

Subspace and Rope

The only way that Freckles is able to get into subspace is through rope. He’s not a fan of impact or many other common types of play, but rope is the one thing that allows him to let go and not have to worry about anything. He explains that when he’s being a service submissive, he can’t let himself go into subspace, because it would make him lose his submissive “edge” where he’s able to perfectly execute tasks for others. With rope, he’s able to fully relax.

Freckles is soon going to be a performance rope bunny at a local event that’s centered around masculine people doing rope, and it’s all about finding the beauty in that. For this event, the rope top is going to tie him however he’d like, almost as if Freckles is a piece of clay that the top is molding however he pleases. The point of the event is to display beauty within masculinity, and how it’s okay for two men to practice rope together.

Lastly, we answer listener questions about advice for new service submissives, aftercare, and whether or not service submission can be enjoyed outside of a D/s dynamic.
